Your child’s first dance class! Filled with music, playful interaction and dance, this class is designed for our youngest dancers! Get ready to wiggle, jump and move to music! Designed for the young dancer, creative movement incorporates props, games music and fun to encourage students to think creatively in addition to learning basic ballet technique. Students will go through a series of stretches, barre work, across the floor steps, and center floor activities. Students must be potty trained in order to participate.
Pre Ballet (ages 5-7)
Pre-ballet introduces students to the basic fundamentals of ballet through creative movement, music, props, and imagery. The children will be introduced to their first barre work through gentle and encouraging instruction.
Pre-Jazz (Ages 5- 7)
Jazz dance incorporates rhythm and movements to many forms of music including rock, popular, rhythm and blues, and show tunes. This is a high-energy class that is great fun! This class is recommended for young children not quite ready for the technical difficulty of a regular jazz class. With a strong focus on technique, dancers learn combinations and choreography that incorporates jumps, kicks, and turns into the differing jazz styles. A student taking jazz will develop stamina, strength, and flexibility.

Children will improve coordination, flexibility, listening, and body awareness. Learning a song and dance routine is part of every Hip Hop class.
Pre Tap (Ages 5-7)
Pre Tap focuses on creating sounds with the feet. Students learn basic tap technique through rhythm exercises, step combinations, and progressions across the floor. Mini-Poms (Ages 5-7)
Classes begin with a warm-up and stretch followed by motion drills and combinations. The main emphasis in class, however, is on dance and jazz techniques-motion drills, jumps, leaps, turns, and splits. (Four year olds may take Mini-Poms if successfully completed Pre Ballet.)
Combo Classes (Ages 5-7)

Ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance. Classes are designed to teach proper technique which includes body alignment and positions. Dancers will gain flexibility and core strength as well as grace, poise, and discipline. Every class will include a ballet barre warm-up, stretches, center-work, and progressions across the floor. We recommend ballet to all our serious dancers-both boys and girls.
Tap (ages 7 & up)
A style of jazz dance that uses metal taps attached to the shoe to make rhythmic sounds. This form of dance uses ballet vocabulary and focuses of rhythm, musicality, and basic jazz principles.
Jazz (ages 7 & up)
A stylized form of dance taking root from popular music and dance forms with basic ballet technique. Jazz is a broad from of dance that is individualized by each teacher. Students will learn alignment, flexibility, balance, turns, leaps, and jumps usually performed to upbeat popular music.

Lyrical dancing is a combination of classical ballet, modern, and jazz. A lyrical dancer portrays the emotions of the music and lyrics of the song. We strongly recommend that students have at least one year of ballet training before trying lyrical.

Dancers learn basic and advanced pom drills and combinations to emphasis unity and precision. Acrobatic classes – offered for those interested in more intense work on tumbling skills.

Modern/Contemporary: A form of dance that began as a rebellion to ballet, shedding tight clothing and ballet slippers, modern dance is the purest form of dance as an art. Dancers learn basic ballet principles with an emphasis on style and dance in bare feet. Improvisation is used as a means to let the students explore their own creativity as a dancer. Students dance to a wide range of musical forms, usually without lyrics.
Acro (Ages 6 & Up)
Acro is dance based floor gymnastics. In Acro students develop strength, coordination, balance, and agility. Instruction begins with simple forward rolls and cartwheels, and progresses through numerous levels that include walkovers, limbers, handsprings, and aerial tricks. Tumbling mats are used to reduce the risk of injury. (Four year olds may take Acro if they have successfully completed Pre Ballet.)
Pointe is for advance students already enrolled in ballet. At the end of each dance season, Pointe classes will be offered to those who have reached appropriate age and skill level.
